For the very first time in Madden Ultimate Team history, Madden 23 introduced a brand new program inspired by human space travel: Welcome to Mission MUT.
With Madden 23 already setting the bar in Ultimate Team with the inaugural Ring Of Honor Program last month, they decided to take things one step further with their Mission MUT Program in April, producing a new space-themed drop that is studded with top tier NFL stars.
As the image of the Mission MUT Program illustrates, Madden 23 most likely derived their inspiration for it from the news regarding NASA’s mission with sending four astronauts to the moon later this year. Seeing the impressive levels of space knowledge humanity continues to expand upon, Madden 23 seemingly felt it was fitting to celebrate space exploration with a program that highlights NFL players that have transcended to new dimensions in their careers.
The Mission MUT Program is a two part feature in Madden 23. With the Part 1 drop taking place last Thursday, April 13, Madden 23 revealed its Part 2 player set on Good Morning Madden today (April 18) before releasing it in-game shortly after. With both parts now live, here’s a look at all the new Madden 23 Mission MUT Program players along with the key details that you need to know.
Madden 23 – Mission MUT Program Details
As noted in the introduction, the Mission MUT Program comes with two parts, with today’s release marking the second and final of the two. Along with its new players, the Mission MUT Program has its very own Field Pass that contains 22 tiers filled with rewards. From a new limited time Renegade Strategy Item, Mission MUT Hero Fantasy packs, Mission MUT Crew Member Emblem packs, Season 4 XP, and plenty of MUT coin, the Mission MUT Field Pass is quite the sight to behold.
Along with the Mission MUT Field Pass, fans will also have the opportunity to play through program challenges to earn additional rewards. That said, these challenges come with a twist, and will ultimately, determine not only which space faction you choose, but also which challenges you will receive. For more on that, visit the player sections down below.
Madden 23 – Mission MUT Players Part 1
Similarly to that of the Ring Of Honor Program, the Mission MUT Program contains three Captains that represent three space factions, all of which come with a four-man crew. Should you secure a Captain and all four of his crew members, that Captain and its crew will receive a variety of ratings boosts.
Accompanying these Captains and their crews, is a handful of Mission MUT Heroes, Champions, and a couple of excellent Limited Edition (LTD) player items. Madden 23 sure did come prepared for the first part of its Mission MUT Program, presenting a decorated collection speckled with some top tier items fans will want to have.

Madden 23 – Mission MUT Captains and Crews
As highlighted briefly above, there are three Mission MUT Captains that represent three space factions, each with their own four-man crew. That being said, you will only be able to select one of the three Captains and their faction to represent your team. How will you do so, you might be wondering?
This is where the Mission MUT Challenges comes into play. As soon as you complete the three-part ‘Launch: Engage’ challenge sequence on hard difficulty that introduces you to each faction, you will receive nine stars that will allow you to open a Crew Captains Fantasy Pack. Here, you will select which Captain and faction you want to represent your team. Once you select your Captain, you will receive a special selection of Crew Expedition challenges that will allow you to collect Mission MUT XP in order to unlock your crew members at tiers 2, 7, and 16 of the Field Pass.
Down below are all three Captains and their crew members you can secure in order to activate their special team chemistry boost. Remember, you will need all four crew players and the Captain of that crew in order for the ratings boosts to take effect. In addition, all three Captains will now have all three faction chemistries, which is big should you be looking to mix and match different factions.
